One of the most difficult things to stick to is a resolution or decision of any kind to try and start making better and healthier decisions for yourself. This time of year especially, people are coming up with ways to break their new habit almost as quick as they are starting it. Here at Downtown Fitness, we wanted to offer these 5 tips for how to best stick to your new goals and habits in 2020.
Pay Attention to Your Progress
Nothing is more motivating than feeling your clothes fit better and having more energy during the day. Keep journals and measurements.
Do Something You Enjoy
If you hate the treadmill, don’t force yourself to do it. If you prefer machine weights to free weights, use what you like.
Head the Obstacles Off at the Pass
You already know what the mental excuses will be. Have a comeback already ready to go.
Make a Plan
Don’t just wing it. Write down what you want to do, exercise by exercise, and then do it.
Whether it is just for yourself, to a workout partner, or to one of our fantastic trainers, just make sure you are being accountable for the choices you are making.
